Description
PRA is seeking several survey interviewers who will be responsible for the in-person data collection of the Resident Experience Survey. Survey interviewers will visit continuing care homes across Alberta, administering survey questionnaires to residents (typically older adults aged 65+) and collecting information using electronic tablets.
Successful data collection depends on the quality of each interview and interaction with the resident. The ideal candidate will possess outstanding communication skills and the ability to deal effectively with a variety of people. Furthermore, the survey interviewer demonstrates efficient and precise information handling, and has excellent problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills. The survey interviewer will also demonstrate the ability to follow research protocols, and both work independently and as part of a team.
This is a temporary position from late May to approximately end of October 2026 (with flexibility to reduce hours for students in September and October as needed). Successful candidates will ideally be located in the Calgary, Edmonton, Red Deer, Grand Prairie, or Lethbridge areas. Those located in other areas of Alberta may still apply.
Qualifications
• Legally entitled to work in Canada
• Minimum of completed high school education
• Excellent communication skills in English
• Excellent organizational, record keeping, and information handling skills
• Ability to work with standard Windows programs (e.g., Microsoft Excel)
• Current and clear Vulnerable Sector Check or ability to complete one with local police
• Prior experience conducting surveys (phone or in person) is considered an asset
• Prior experience working with older adults (65+) and/or vulnerable populations is considered an asset
Responsibilities
• Administer the survey to residents using data collection methods such as distribution of paper surveys or via face-to-face interview format
• Liaise with care home staff to ensure safe and efficient interactions with residents
• Manage and monitor data collection processes
• Maintain the security and confidentiality of all information collected from respondents
• Proactively identify and inform the PRA survey coordinator about project timelines, deliverables, risks, and potential issues
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and prepare progress reports as required
• Ensure adherence to continuing care home infection prevention and control procedures
Pay Rate
$28.68/hour
