Qualifications
• Grade 12 (or an equivalent combination of education and experience)
• Valid Alberta Class 5 Driver’s Licence
• Experience using computers and data entry software
• Physically able to perform fieldwork, including lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs
• Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with equipment
• Strong communication skills, professionalism, and good judgement
• Candidates enrolled in a Water and Wastewater Operator Certification Program would be an asset
• Ability to work independently and possess strong organizational/time-management skills
• An attention to detail combined with a strong work ethic individual is desired
• This position will be working outside completing fieldwork in rural-remote areas
• These are designated safety sensitive positions and mandatory pre-employment drug testing will be required on all newly hired employees.
Responsibilities
• Maintain a safe, clean and organized environment around Special Areas Board water facilities
• Support minor plumbing tasks and respond to unexpected issues under the guidance of peers
• Transporting samples and delivering parts between facilities and laboratories for analysis
• Assist water utility officers with water delivery and sanitization tasks at various work sites
• Working alongside experienced staff, contributing to the repair, maintenance and monitoring of water infrastructure
• Record field data, inspection results, and maintenance information accurately
• Delivering the Special Areas Safety Program and all reporting requirements
• Other duties as required
