Farmers Business Network (FBN) is a member-driven ag-tech and e-commerce platform dedicated to "putting Farmers First." Founded in 2014 and headquartered in San Carlos, California, FBN serves as a digital "one-stop shop" that leverages data science and community-driven insights to help family farmers lower their costs, increase their transparency, and maximize their profitability.
Role Overview
The Community Builder is the face of FBN in the field. This isn't a traditional "sales" role; it is a hybrid of agricultural consulting, community organizing, and technology advocacy. You are responsible for growing the FBN network by building trust with independent farmers and helping them navigate the digital transition of their business operations as well as helping them with their chemical, and nutritional needs.
Qualifications
Candidate Qualifications
Strong sales abilities and ability to connect with people.
Ag Background preferred or at least a general knowledge about the industry
Tech Savvy: Comfortable using the FBN mobile app, and translating that skill to non-technical audiences.
Self-Starter: Ability to work and stay on task with minimal daily supervision.
Integrity: A commitment to the "Farmers First" mission
Experience: 1-3 years in sales, agronomy, is preferred.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Network Growth: Identify and recruit new farmer members through cold calling, local networking, and farm-gate visits.
Account Management: Manage a portfolio of existing members, ensuring they are utilizing FBN Direct (e-commerce) for their chemical, and nutritional (cattle and plant) needs.
Community Engagement: Host local "Kitchen Table" meetings or regional events to foster community among independent growers.
Pay Rate
2-7% of sales plus additional bonus'
