Description
The Medicine Hat Police Service is currently seeking applicants for the position of police constable.
Applicants from this process will be sworn in as police officers and will commence police recruit training at MHPS in the fall of 2026.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
- Canadian citizen or legal permanent resident at the time of application
- At least 18 years of age
- Class 5 Driver's license (non GDL) with no more than five demerit points
- Meet medical/health and fitness standards
- No unpardoned criminal convictions
- No criminal charges pending before the courts
- No criminal activity within the last three years both detected and undetected
- Strong credit rating
Responsibilities
Police constables respond to calls for service within the community of Medicine Hat. They investigate criminal acts, keep the peace, and enforce municipal, provincial, and federal laws.
Pay Rate
5th Class Constable ($35.96/hour)
