Each summer, the Canadian Coast Guard offers students a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience while making a real difference. Through the
Inshore Rescue Boat (IRB) Program, students provide on-water search and rescue services and work closely with local partners to help mariners in need.

Qualifications
Who we’re looking for:
We’re seeking students who hold the following certifications:
- Standard First Aid with CPR-C and AED
- Pleasure Craft Operator Card (or equivalent)
- Restricted Radio Operator Certificate – Maritime (ROC-M) with VHF DSC endorsement
- A valid, unrestricted Canadian driver’s licence ()

Your summer contract will run from April or May 2026 to September 2026, with paid training provided by the Canadian Coast Guard.
