Qualifications
What We’re Looking For
• Current RN or LPN student (please provide proof of enrollment).
• Clear criminal record check.
• Previous childcare experience—whether you’ve completed a babysitting course, have regular babysitting experience, or are a parent yourself.
• Someone caring, dependable, and comfortable learning diabetes management.
• Bonus: Previous experience with Dexcom continuous glucose monitoring or the Omnipod Dash insulin pump is a definite asset.
Responsibilities
About the Family
We’re looking for a RN or LPN student to provide reliable, occasional child care for our two children:
• Six-year-old with Type 1 diabetes (you’ll receive guidance and training on carb counting and diabetes management).
• Two-year-old with no medical conditions.
The Role
• Provide child care about twice a month, typically in the evening for 3–5 hours at a time, so Mom and Dad can enjoy some well-deserved respite. Standard childcare duties: playtime, mealtime prep, bedtime routine, and ensuring a safe, positive environment.
• We’re happy to set a flexible schedule around your school commitments—whether that means helping us coordinate Friday or Saturday “get-away” evenings or establishing consistent days that work for you.
• Learn and confidently manage basic Type 1 diabetes care (we will provide training and ongoing support).
