Description
The Medicine Hat College is seeking a skilled student to support the conversion and appropriate storage of a large volume of existing paper records to an electronic format for retention purposes. Reporting to the Executive Assistant, President and Board of Governors, the successful candidate will have strong technological skills, be specifically proficient with Microsoft Office and Adobe Pro, and have experience with the use of standard office equipment.
Qualifications
• A student who is enrolled in an administrative office professional, business administration or related post-secondary program
• High school students may be considered based on qualifications and availability
• Experience with Microsoft Office suite and Adobe Acrobat Pro
• Familiarity with record management and filing
• Proficient typing skills and data entry experience
• Thorough and accurate with exceptional attention to detail
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills
• Independently motivated to complete tasks and projects
• Maintains strict confidentiality, tact, and respect at all times while performing responsibilities
• Ability to lift 20 pounds (following OHS practices), sit, bend, stretch and stand for extended periods of time
Responsibilities
• scan and organize records, both paper and digital
• label and enter documents into the computer system
• apply a classification system and file naming convention set out for organizational information
• file and label archived paper records in storage and/or shred redundant documents as directed
• ensure high quality scanning and accuracy
• lift, carry, and transport boxed documents to and from storage
Pay Rate
18.00
Term Of Appointment
Approximately 6 to 8 weeks depending on the project needs.
