Description
We are looking to add a Red Cross Youth Leader to our Medicine Hat team!
This contract runs June to August with the option to continue to work with us at the end of the contract for the right candidate. This is a summer student contract position. Weekday and Weekend availability is required.
Little Lungs First Aid and Big Hearts First Aid are Canadian Red Cross and Heart and Stroke partners. We are looking to add instructors to our Calgary team to teach our Red Cross Youth Courses (including Stay Safe and Babysitter).
We are looking for a candidate who enjoys working with youth (ages 8-15). Teaching experience is an asset.
There is an opportunity to also be trained as a Red Cross First Aid Instructor and a CPR & Choking Workshop instructor which we can discuss in the interview!
Job Types: Part-time, Seasonal
Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
Schedule:
8 hour shift
Work Location: In person
Qualifications
This position requires the Red Cross Youth Leader Certification. If you do not have this certification, we can assist you in obtaining it.
Licence/Certification:
Red Cross Standard First Aid & CPR/AED Level C Certificate (preferred)
Red Cross Youth Leader Certificate (preferred)
Driving Licence (preferred)
Responsibilities
Facilitating Youth Courses including Babysitter and Stay Safe courses.
Shift Responsibilities:
- Opening the location
- Setting up for the course
- Greeting and checking in participants
- Managing the classroom
- Faciliating education through hands on learning including games, activities, brainstorms and skills.
- Teaching First Aid Skills to participants
- Closing the classroom
Pay Rate
$18.00-$20.00 per hour
