Location: Medicine Hat College Campus, Room TBD
Wage: $15.00-$20.00/hour depending on education and/or experience,
40 hours per week 8:15am-4:45pm (includes half-hour unpaid lunch break)
This is a summer position, reporting to the Executive Director of the College Child Development Centre. Responsibilities include the safety and supervision of up to 20 children 7-10 years old, the programming, and the daily routines at the school age summer camp.
Qualifications
1. Some knowledge of school age child development
and experience is an asset (i.e., Education, Early Learning and Child Care or
Child and Youth Care Counselling student).
2. A genuine fondness for children aged 7 to 10 years.
3. A willingness to work and to support the
school age program.
4. Must have the ability to pass a current Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check and have current First Aid/CPR.
5. Must possess good communication skills
and be flexible.
6. Work cooperatively and effectively with all other staff and involved people on a team basis.
7. Enjoy the outdoors and be competent in
taking children on outings and walks.
8. To be mature and responsible in this role.
Responsibilities
1. To implement a planned program of safe, fun
& of educational experiences for the children.
2. To prepare and put away the necessary materials and resources required to provide an effective program for the children; keeping a neat and tidy environment, respecting the space available to us.
3. Work cooperatively and effectively with
all other staff on a team basis in the provision of services to children and
their families and be responsible for the utmost care of a group of children in
many types of situations.
4. Attend and respond to the individual needs of the children; leaders must interact with the children.
5. Leaders must adequately supervise the children at all times.
6. Leaders are encouraged to seek guidance from their supervisor when unsure about anything.
7. Keeping records, forms, and registers neatly,
as required, submitting all documents to Executive Director on August 22, 2025.
8. Perform all related duties as required or assigned.
