Description
Inclusion Support Worker
We are seeking a part-time (6) hours per week Inclusion Support Worker who will be responsible for providing personal support to our son with developmental disabilities to enable him to be a valued, contributing member of the community. The Inclusion Support Worker will be responsible for supporting the development of skills and competencies that will assist our son to pursue and fulfill our goals and aspirations. The Inclusion Support Worker will be required to assist our son in the community and home settings. As well, the Inclusion Support Worker will be responsible for liaising with a variety of community organizations (clubs, recreational groups) to support those organizations in their efforts towards inclusion.
The ideal candidate will possess:
-a steadfast belief and commitment to inclusion for the right for all people to belong, participate and contribute to the community
-the ability to work independently in unstructured environments and to employ effective time management skills
-excellent coaching skills – knowledge of and ability to demonstrate and support the development of skills as they relate to managing at home, and in the community.
-knowledge of community resources available to support our son’s participation and inclusion within their community
A valid Class 5 driver’s license; access to a reliable vehicle and applicable insurance, First Aid and CPR certification and Recent Police Check (within the last year)
