Description
The Suffield MFRC is seeking a dynamic and passionate Communications & Outreach Coordinator to help us elevate our mission and connect with military and veteran families, as well as the broader military community. This is a key role responsible for creating and executing communication strategies that promote our services, programs, and events through various digital channels, community outreach, and event promotion.

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or related field
• At least two years of experience in marketing, communications, or a similar role (preferably in nonprofit or military settings)
• Proficiency in social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn) and content management tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Buffer)
• Experience with design software (e.g. Canva) and email marketing platforms (e.g. Constant Contact)
• Strong organizational, project management, and communication skills
• A passion for supporting military families and an understanding of their unique challenges
• French language skills are an asset
• Standard Level C First Aid/CPR/AED
Additional Requirements:
• Government Reliability Screening, Criminal Records (Vulnerability Sector Screening) and Intervention Record Check
• Possession of a valid passport, willingness to travel by air
• Must be adaptable and thrive in a team-oriented environment
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
• Communications & Content Strategy: Develop and implement an annual communication plan covering newsletters, blogs, promotional materials, and social media.
• Digital Marketing & Social Media: Manage and grow social media presence, promote services and events, and analyze campaign performance.
• Website & Email Engagement: Maintain website updates and manage email campaigns to keep the community informed.
• Radio, Blog & Podcast Media: Create and manage multimedia content to enhance brand visibility and audience engagement.
• Event Promotion & Community Outreach: Plan, promote, and cover events while collaborating with local organizations.
• Brand Consistency & Messaging: Ensure clear, consistent messaging across all platforms, aligning with organizational values.
• Performance Tracking & Optimization: Monitor marketing effectiveness and recommend improvements.
