Description
Alberta Pacific Forest Industries Inc. (Al-Pac) is seeking 2025 Summer Students to work out of our mill site in Athabasca, Alberta. Al-Pac is recruiting for various positions across our Administration and Operations business areas. Our Summer Student Program is designed to develop the next generation of team members, while rewarding students with meaningful work, competitive pay and the opportunity to learn from industry professionals through hands-on experience.
Hours of work will be determined based on the area of assignment. Typically, Administration roles operate Monday-Thursday working ten hours per day, or Monday- Friday eight hours per day. Operations roles typically work a 14-day rotation on a 28-day cycle working 12 hours per day, on either a day shift or a night shift.
Qualifications
Eligible candidates must be returning to a recognized post-secondary program after summer of employment, or recently graduated from a post-secondary program within the same year of summer employment (Returning Al-Pac students only).
Hold a valid Driver’s License (GDL removed) with an acceptable driving history.
Detail oriented with great communication skills.
Strong work ethic and committed to self-development.
Excellent interpersonal skills and team oriented.
Responsibilities
Scanning and storage of documents
Archiving documents
Data Entry
Reliability Services (Site Services)
Grass cutting
General clean up and labour
Moving furniture
Replacing lighting & Replacing HVAC filters
Warehouse
Data entry
Filing documentation
Loading pulp cars and pulp trucks
Cleaning rail cars
Stores
Delivery of parts around the mill-site (must have valid class 5 driver’s license)
Stocking of parts (able to lift up to 50lbs)
Performing inventory counts of stock
Environment & Technical
Calibrating laboratory instrumentation;
Performing ash testing on pulp;
Data entry and report creation
Weekly landfill inspections
Conducting required wildlife sweeps onsite
Collection, Identification, and Storing of Hazardous Waste
