Description
The Suffield Military Family Resource Centre (MFRC) is an independently incorporated not-for-profit agency, mandated to provide quality services to Canadian & British military families. Our organization supports families in overcoming the unique stressors associated with the military lifestyle, creating confident, self-sufficient & resilient community members.
The position involves supervising groups of children aged 5-10 years and 11-17 years.
Note, the organization is located in Ralston, 45KM west of Medicine Hat. Own transportation is required. Commuting assistance covers fuel costs.
Qualifications
- First Aid Certified (must complete within the first 90 days of employment)
- Outgoing, personable, energetic & highly organized
- Effective communication skills and strong team building abilities
Responsibilities
- Follow established activity schedule, directly supervising groups of children aged between 5 - 10 years and youth aged between 11 - 17 years
- Provide a pleasant, safe environment that is conducive to learning
- Interact professionally with children, youth, parents, and MFRC staff
- Deliver services as prescribed in the standards, policies, and procedures set forth by the MFRC
- Identify specific needs of participants and assist in the development of high quality, age appropriate games and activities that address needs
- Inform the Management of any needed program supplies
- Inform Management of any concerns regarding children / youth participating in the program
- Complete required documentation in the manner and time specified by MFRC
- Attend and participate effectively in Staff Meetings
- Participate in promotion and fund raising activities as requested
