Description
The Neutral Hills Community Adult Learning Society (NHCALS) is funded through the Community Adult Learning Program of Advanced Education to provide adult foundational learning services to individuals 18 years or older. The services provided include English Language Learning, GED Prep, Family Literacy Programs, Resume Writing, Exam Invigilation, and Community Capacity Building. The program services Consort, Veteran, Altario and surrounding areas.
Job Purpose: The Executive Director is responsible for the successful leadership and management of the Neutral Hills Community Adult Learning Society according to the strategic direction set by the Board of Directors and as per the grant funding guidelines.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:
University degree in a related, social sciences field. Equivalent education and experience may be considered.
Knowledge of leadership and management principles as they relate to non-profit/voluntary organisations.
Knowledge of provincial/municipal legislation application to non-profit organisations and programs in Alberta including: employment standards, human rights, occupational health and safety, charities, taxation, CPP, EI, health coverage, etc.
Knowledge of current community challenges and opportunities relating to the mission of the organisation.
Knowledge of human resources management
Knowledge of bookkeeping practices and financial management (QuickBooks Online)
Ability to write effectively (grants, evaluation reports, letters, etc.)
Competent in public speaking (design and deliver presentations, lead meetings, etc.)
Ability to effectively network, collaborate, and partner with community organisations.
Proficiency in using various technology platforms and programs
Ability to manage social media platforms to effectively promote organisation’s purpose, priorities, and programs.
