Related Education (either Diploma or Degree):  Human Service Worker, Social Work, Criminology, Criminal Justice, Correctional or Police Services, Psychology, Sociology, and Education.

Assets:

• A high cultural competency in Indigenous experience
• Child and Youth Care Degree or Diploma
• Related experience in therapeutic campus-based care setting, working with indigenous populations, working in youth homes, teacher, educational assistant, crisis intervention, family counselling, youth counselling, youth correction work, Current Certification in First Aid with CPR and Suicide Intervention

There are multiple positions available including Temporary, Permanent and On Call Wage opportunities. This competition will be used to establish a pool of qualified candidates to fill current and future vacancies at our treatment centres.
 
Temporary and Permanent Employee Hours of Work:  Up to 7.75 hrs. daily/shift including days, evenings, night, and weekend shifts. Up to 38.75/ hour weekly
 
Wage Employee Hours of Work:  Hours depend on centre needs and will vary between 0-38.75 hours per week. Wage employees work on an on-call basis, receiving an hourly wage as well as $2.75 hourly evening shift differential, $3.25 hourly weekend premium as well as $5.00 shift differential for working night shifts. Employees are expected to be available a minimum number of shifts per week (depending on location)

Out-of-province applicants can obtain the required documents/checks from the province they currently reside in.

Candidates who incur a cost to complete any of the above listed pre-employment checks will be eligible for reimbursement if they are hired into a position in the Campus Based Treatment Centres. Please ensure that you keep your receipt or proof of purchase to complete the expense process once hired.
 
Candidate screening and interviews will be taking place periodically throughout the job posting. Interviews will be taking place virtually, and accommodation may be made if requested.
 
Successful candidates will be placed into a talent pool, at which point their pre-employment checks will be conducted and their suitability will be assessed. Those who are matched to a vacancy will be contacted; those who are not will have up to 6 months to be considered while their certification is still valid.
