Description
Bridges is an early intervention and prevention initiative that is designed to support families in providing a nurturing, stimulating and safe environment for their child(ren) and is part of the Family Resource Network in Alberta. Bridges focuses on supporting families to meet their basic needs; strengthening parent/child attachment and responsive caregiving, supporting the development of healthy relationships; increasing health and well-being, strengthening parenting skills including their knowledge of child and youth development and connecting them to community resources and services. Qualifications
- Certificate, Diploma or Degree and related experience in a Human Service field.
- Strong interpersonal communication, organization and administrative skills.
- Experience in strength-based, family-centered family support practice.
- Knowledge of community resources and services preferred.
- An understanding of the diversity, customs and traditions of Indigenous people and diverse multicultural experience is an asset.
- Experience working with computers, email and internet.
Responsibilities
- Providing intensive, hands-on family support including working early mornings, evenings and weekends as needed.
- Maintain a trusting, supportive relationship with families by providing information and support through regular home visits, meetings, phone calls, case conferences, etc.
- Support families in the Medicine Hat and rural areas.
- Utilize a family-centered approach to assist families in developing personal and family goals.
- At the request of an individual, advocate with them or on their behalf.
- Assist individuals in accessing community resources.
- Work collaboratively with Service providers.
- Maintain program participant files.
- Participant in association and program promotion activities.
- Enter statistical data into a computer database.
Pay Rate
24.75-25.00/hr
