Description
The Ministry of Forestry and Parks is dedicated to the environmentally responsible growth of Alberta's wood products and forestry sector. Our focus includes protecting Alberta's forests from wildfires and preserving provincial parks for the recreation and enjoyment of Albertans.
The Wildfire Management Branch is integral to public confidence in wildfire and forest management. As a Seasonal Wildfire Investigator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with laws protecting the natural environment and the health and safety of Albertans.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
• Two-year diploma or degree in Enforcement/Police and Investigations, Conservation Enforcement, or related studies. Equivalent education or experience considered.
• Valid criminal record check, Standard First Aid certificate with CPR, Driver’s License, and Defensive Driving Certificate required.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist with on-scene investigations to determine wildfire origins.
• Conduct investigations into provincial and federal law contraventions.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, partner law enforcement, and regulatory agencies.
• Work effectively in various environments, including outdoor settings and office environments.
• Travel to remote regions on short notice using various methods of transportation.
Pay Rate
$29.87 to $38.82 per hour
